What music do you recommend? PDF Print E-mail
Music that inspires you to dance. For us that is music primarily from the 1930s & 40s or more recent but with that same feeling. Sometimes it is fun to deviate from the norm, for instance the Beatles song "When I'm Sixty-Four" can be a lot of fun to dance to. Some people like to try to swing dance to just about anything, but we tend to be inspired more by traditional sounding swing.

For beginners, all three of the Indigo Swing albums have a lot of tracks at a good tempo with obvious beats. We also usually recommend the Frankie Manning's Favorites album as well as music by Slim Gaillard. We have had good luck buying the 4-cd box sets put out by Proper-UK. Of course, we recommend you listen to samples from a cd before buying it to ensure it has music you like.
